Why Be a Sound Engineer?

Picture: Bill Chrysler, famous sound engineer.

If you're a music lover, sound engineering is a pretty cool gig. If you are successful enough you may even get to work face to face with the biggest names in the music industry! Sound engineering invites you to connect your technical and creative sides in a musical way.

Like all engineering related professions, sound engineering can get very technical. In this blog, I'm going to try and break down the sound engineering into James Paul Gee's five elements of a community: saying, being, doing, valuing, and believing.

Again, if you feel a pull towards music, but you have a technical side too, being a sound engineer can be a very rewarding career!
